Today, national forecasters shifted NV-02 towards Democrats, signaling Teresa Benitez-Thompson’s growing momentum and David Flippo’s dwindling prospects as his campaign craters.

Retiring Republican Rep. Mark Amodei perfectly summarized how northern Nevadans are feeling about Flippo:
- Called Flippo “not my cup of tea” and said there was “no way” he was endorsing him
- “I got a guy who couldn’t get out of a Republican Assembly primary in Clark County [two cycles ago],” Amodei said, referring to Flippo. “Last cycle, couldn’t get out of a Republican CD4 primary in Clark County, and then shows up and goes, ‘I’m the answer for CD2 because it has historically been a Republican seat, and I love Donald Trump.’ So it’s like, ‘OK, tell me about your deep love for the people you want to serve.'”
Nevada State Democratic Party spokesperson Asaf Grofman released the following statement:
“The pressure keeps ramping up on David Flippo as he realizes he cannot just lie, carpetbag, and cheat his way into office. This forecast shift is a reflection of two things. First, Democrats, Republicans, and non-partisans are rejecting Flippo’s candidacy. Second, and more importantly, Teresa Benitez-Thompson has shown herself to be an extraordinary candidate, from outraising David Flippo, to running circles around him on the campaign trail, understanding the issues that Northern Nevadans care about, racking up endorsements, and impressing national political figures with her campaign and presence.”
